Industry Visit - Del Walker of Creative Assembly

De Montfort Game Art's very own Alumni Del Walker came back to visit the third year on the 4th of December.

Since graduating Del has gone on to become a well-respected character artist and an active member in the online game art community having had tutorials published in Vertex Magazine.

He has worked for companies as diverse as Blitz, Sony, Splash Samage, Rocksteady and currently resides at Creative Assembly working on their current spate of IPs.

During his time with us Del was very eager to see the student's work from the style matrix projects and spent the entire day giving students feedback and the benefit of his industry experiences.

Overall Del told us that he was really impressed with the level of the work quality in the third year. He was especially happy with the fact students had access to Allegorythmic's Substance suite, it's one less thing they'd need to be trained up on at CA.

So the big question has to be: Has Creative Assembly got their eye on the third year for work placements? It's no secret that the purpose of Del's visit was to scout for talented soon-to-be-grads, but as for who CA have their eye on, you'll just have to watch this space...
